SUP lessons are run by a qualified SUP instructor. We will get you standing up and enjoying the wonderful sport of stand up paddle boarding in Coffs Harbour! We specialise in beginner lessons and those that are looking at buying a board (can try our inflatable and hard boards before you go away and buy). We will make sure you are paddling in an ergonomically correct manner and save you hours of frustration. We’ll take you through balance, alignment and stroke technique to make sure you get the most of your SUP experience. On completion of the lesson you can explore the beautiful waters on your own for an hour.
How about an Eco-tour on a SUP with your very own qualified marine scientist? Recommended for those that have paddled before. Learn about the estuarine ecosystem and the wonderful plants and animals that live in the area and some of the history both past and present of Coffs Harbour on Stand Up Paddle Boards.
SUP Special Group Tours
We can tailor an experience for you. Whether it be a group of 50 people or a small party. We can run this as an educational, team building exercise or just a fun time out. We can cater for you also, hire a shelter or you can use the free BBQs at Boambee Creek Reserve. Call us on 0468406222 to have a chat about different options!
Where can I take my SUP?
We are based at Boambee Creek Reserve 10 minutes from the centre of Coffs Harbour on the beautiful Boambee Creek estuary and operate by appointment (either online booking or phone call). We also operate by appointment at Coffs Creek and Bonville Creek where you can paddle through the beautiful Bongil Bongil National Park. You can pick up the SUP if you have roof racks and take it away for multiple days or have it dropped at your accommodation for a fee. Call for details.
What to wear when Stand Up Paddle Boarding?
We recommend that you wear sun safe clothing and wear something you are happy to get wet in like your swimming costume or boardshorts. Make sure you put sunscreen on and wear a hat that can be strapped or tied under your chin if you have one. We don’t recommend you wear your glasses or take phones on the water. We can take photos for you during the lesson if you wish and will put our phone in a drybag.
What size Stand Up Paddle Boarding do I need?
We use 10’ 6” and 11 ‘ boards as these are great for beginners and also great for flat water paddling for all levels. We use soft top boards as these are less likely to be dinged and also have some double walled inflatable boards. We have boards that will allow 2 children on or an adult and small child also. We can talk to you about the different types of boards and the advantages and disadvantages of these.
What’s included in the hiring of a Stand Up Paddle Board?
We supply the board, the paddle, safety instructions and a lifejacket should you wish. Lifejackets are not compulsory for SUP hire but are for those that cannot swim.
