Mindfulness in the mangroves

Slow down. Breathe. Reconnect with nature.

Hidden within the calm waterways of Coffs Harbour’s mangrove forests is a chance to experience the water differently.

Mindfulness in the Mangroves is a gentle guided experience that blends nature connection, eco-awareness, and moments of calm on the water. Guests can choose to explore by kayak or stand-up paddleboard (SUP), depending on their comfort and experience.

Unlike a traditional fast-paced tour, this experience encourages you to slow down, notice your surroundings, and enjoy the peaceful rhythm of moving quietly through one of the region’s most unique ecosystems.

As we paddle through the mangroves, we may observe birdlife, reflections on the water, tidal movement, and the subtle details that are often missed when life feels busy. Along the way, we include light mindfulness and breathing prompts inspired by the calming effects of water environments, sometimes referred to as “Blue Mind” — the relaxed, calm state many people experience when spending time near water.

There is no pressure to “meditate” or do anything perfectly. The experience is simple, natural, and accessible — combining gentle paddling, local environmental insight, and time to simply be present in nature.
Perfect for beginners, nature lovers, stressed professionals, or anyone looking to reconnect with the outdoors in a meaningful way.

Small groups only.
No kayaking or SUP experience required.
